Dirty, worn or cracked? Cleaning, sealing and new concrete are three different jobs, and a driveway can need any of them.
Which Kind of Driveway Job Is It?
Most driveway jobs come down to one of three things.
The concrete is sound but filthy, with years of dirt, grime and algae on it. That's a clean.
The concrete is sound but the sealed finish has gone dull, worn or started to peel. That's sealing or resealing.
The concrete itself is cracked or broken. Cleaning and sealing don't fix that. That's new concrete.
A lot of tired-looking driveways turn out to be the first or second kind.
Oil Marks, Tyre Marks and Failed Sealer
Cars leave marks. Oil and tyre marks sitting on the surface clean up well. Oil that has soaked in deeper may only fade, and some marks won't shift much at all.
Peeling or cloudy sealer isn't dirt, and washing it won't fix it. It has to be dealt with before a new coat goes on.
Replacing One Section
If the damage is confined to one part of the driveway and the rest is sound, that section can be replaced without touching the rest.
The new concrete won't match the old. It will look different beside concrete that has weathered for years.
If the slab is moving underneath, a new section or a fresh coat won't stop that. Atlas doesn't assess ground movement, so get an engineer or builder to look at it before anything is poured or sealed.
